This is from one of the first sets I ever shot when I was just getting into photography. The set was inspired in equal parts by R.E.M.’s Losing My Religion and Dave Matthews’ Save Me. Both songs focus around the internal struggles that comes with a loss of faith—be it in a person, a thing, one’s self, religion, what have you—and I thought it would be interesting, if not challenging, to try and get that same feeling to come through in a photograph.
