Hailing from Dublin, The Guggenheim Grotto consists of Kevin May and Mick Lynch, two very talented—and very funny—guys whom I had the pleasure of going out to dinner with when they came through Philly recently as the supporting act on Ingrid Michaelson’s national tour. With music that can best be described as alt-folk, Kevin and Mick have a gift for turning the seemingly mundane aspects of daily life into poetic experiences; not unlike fellow duo Simon & Garfunkel.

The video for “Her Beautiful Ideas” is, simply put, awesome. The use of Stop-Motion animation is not only cool but also really impressive when you consider that it requires, on average, three hundred pictures just to create a mere thirty seconds of video. Not to be outdone, the song itself is great and features one of my new all-time favorite break-downs; a sing along friendly repetition of the phrase, ”let’s get naked and get under the sheets.”
