Brooklyn born Mos Def is often regarded as one of the most insightful hip hop artists of our generation; pushing the boundaries of hip hop music since the mid 90s by infusing different genres, poetry, and even political activism into his songs. The afro-beat heavy, “Quiet Dog,” off of last year’s The Ecstatic, is one of my all time favorite Mos Def tracks.
