I’ve been a fan of Australia’s identical twin sisters turned electro-pop rockers The Veronica’s for a while now but I’ve been a fan of “unplugged” versions of songs for as long as I can remember. Needless to say when I came across this live version of The Veronica’s hit single “Untouched” performed at BBC Radio’s 5:19 Show, I was pretty psyched.
While it’s not easy per se to sound great in a studio, you need a hell of a lot more talent to sound just as good without all the production—the difference between a Britney and a Christina for example. Luckily, The Veronica’s have talent in spades as evidenced by this amazing performance. In particular I think Lisa Marie’s harmonies throughout this video incredible.
Interesting Tidbit: The band’s name comes from the 1989 movie Heathers wherein one girl asks, ‘Are you a Heather?’ and Winona Ryder’s character answers, ‘No, I’m a Veronica.
